Boval Engineering has the facilities to offer a complete product finish service.
Boval Engineering’s metal finishing services include linishing and pickling & passivation. By combining these services with metal powder coating and linishing, Boval Engineering can provide high quality finishes all in the one location.
Boval Engineering offers linishing to their customers as part of the metal finishing process. Linishing is a process commonly used to produce a fine finish on sheet metal or plate components. A linishing belt is passed back and forth over the sheet until the surface has been cleaned up completely.
Linishing is often preferable over grinding as uneven surfaces can be finished off with minimal material removal. Also less heat is usually generated during the process often reducing the need for the use of a coolant.
Features: Finish / Hand Finish or Machine Finish / All Metal Types.
Boval Engineering offer their customers pickling and passivation for stainless steel products. These chemical treatments are required if there is corrosion of the stainless steel due to contamination of the surface. Pickling and passivation chemical treatments are applied to the stainless steel surface and aim to remove the contaminants that are causing the corrosion.
Pickling is the removal of any high temperature scale and any adjacent low chromium layer of metal from the surface of stainless steel by chemical means.
Passivation is the treatment of the surface of stainless steels, often with acid solutions (or pastes), to remove contaminants and promote the formation of the passive film on a freshly created surface.
For cleaning of stainless steel welds Boval Engineering also offers TIG Brush cleaning. This metal finishing process cleans welds and restores stainless steel surfaces. TIG Brush cleaning uses a proprietary electro-chemical process, combining low-toxicity liquids to produce superior results.
